Abdominal tuberculosis could be a result of primary infection or reactivation of a dormant focus (post primary
tuberculosis). The latter can happen due to decreased immunity levels like in case of severe
infections,
HIV,
malnutrition etc.
Treatment is with
anti-tubercular drugs, steroids and surgery depending upon the individual patient requirement either alone or in combination
