Insurance Term - Waiting Period

The time which must pass after filing a claim before a policyholder can collect insurance benefits is known as the ‘waiting period’. In other words, it is the amount of time between the beginning of a disability and the date on which benefits begin. It can also be expressed as the period of time before an employee becomes eligible to apply for insurance. Thus, waiting period is defined as a period of time when the health plan does not cover a person for a particular health problem.
