Insurance Term - Assignment of Benefits

When an insured person or a policyholder assigns benefits, a document is signed, allowing the hospital or doctor to collect health insurance benefits directly from the Health Insurance Company (or insurer). Otherwise, the insured person pays for the hospitalization expenses incurred, as part of treatment and is later reimbursed by the health insurance company upon submission of claim documents.
