Bladder Biopsy for Patient Education


About - Bladder biopsy is a procedure that involves removing a small piece of tissue from the bladder for examination. It is mainly done in suspected cancer cases but where there is no definitive mass identified. It is also performed to confirm Genitourinary Tuberculosis (GUTB).

Procedure– It is usually performed as a part of cystoscopy (Endoscopy via urethra). A small portion of tissue or the entire area of concern is removed and sent to the laboratory for analysis.
