Sugary Drinks Increase Risk of Diabetes, Heart Disease and Stroke

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of risk factors, which increases the risk of developing diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. Regular consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages like soda and juice can increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and other endemic health problems, reveals a new study. The results showed that there was a link between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption and the metabolic syndrome.
