Anemia - A condition in which the number of red blood cells is below normal.
Sickle cell anemia - The most common form of sickle cell disease. Other types of sickle cell disease include hemoglobin SC disease and sickle beta-thalassemia; there are also other, less common types of sickle cell disease.
Fanconi Anemia - A rare and often fatal inherited disease in which the bone marrow fails to produce red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, or a combination of these cells. The disease may transform into myelodysplastic syndrome or leukemia.
Pernicious Anemia - A type of anemia (low red blood cell count) caused by the body's inability to absorb vitamin B12.
Hemolytic anemia - Anemia resulting from the lysis of red blood cells, as in response to certain toxic or infectious agents and in certain inherited blood disorders.
