PHOENIX, Sept. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mainstreet Health®, one of the nation's largest developers of post-acute healthcare properties, announced it is entering the Arizona market in a big way- opening four of its unique Rapid Recovery facilities before the end of 2017. Designed to feel more like a hotel, Rapid Recovery from Mainstreet Health® (RRC) specializes in rehabilitation and care immediately following a hospital stay.

Three of the facilities are in Maricopa County, with the fourth in Tucson. In total, the company expects to hire more than 800 employees to staff all four facilities.  Many of which will be hired before the end of 2017.

Locations and timelines for each facility are:

  • Surprise, AZ—14660 W. Parkwood Drive Surprise, AZ 85374(ribbon cutting to be held October 5)
  • Phoenix, AZ — 3000 N. 91st Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85037 (ribbon cutting to be held October 26)
  • Chandler, AZ—3033 S. Arizona Avenue Chandler, AZ 85248 (on schedule to open before end of 2017)
  • Tucson, AZ— 5151 East Pima Street Tucson, AZ 85712 (on schedule to open before end of 2017)
RRC provides a bridge between the hospital and home for patients recovering from a broad range of surgical procedures and medical conditions. The company has a proven track record of developing hotel-like healthcare properties specially designed to help post-acute patients get well quickly. RRC distinguishes itself from other post-acute options through its four operational pillars:

  • Clinical Excellence
  • Technology and Communication
  • Culture and Patient Experience
  • Purpose-built Design
From the medical side, the property features physician-led care teams, staff with high acuity experience, electronic medical records accessibility, an on-site pharmaceutical dispensing system, and amenities consistent with Mainstreet's award-winning properties.

From the patient comfort perspective, the property is thoughtfully designed, and features large patient rooms with contemporary décor, an on-site, restaurant-style chef to prepare meals, a coffee-shop style café, social gathering spaces and entertainment.

The average length of stay for RRC patients is anticipated to be lower than in traditional nursing facilities. One reason for the shorter stays may be that a patient's rehab is conducted daily, with specialists on-site each day, unlike some facilities where weekends are taken off. Another reason may be that patients tend to be more upbeat and positive between therapy sessions. Many patients no longer feel like they're stuck in a hospital, anxious to be discharged, because at RRC they're able to enjoy many of the same experiences they would have during a hotel stay.

"Rapid Recovery from Mainstreet Health bridges a vital gap in rehabilitation treatment," said Ed Smith, vice president of operations, Arizona. "Our physician driven model prepares us to admit patients earlier in the recovery process, allowing hospitals to discharge patients earlier than typical post-acute care facilities. From the patient perspective, we're providing an atmosphere where they can be comfortable and relax between treatments and physical therapy sessions. We couldn't be more thrilled to bring this service to the residents of Arizona."

RRC expects to accept patients at its first facilities later this September upon completion of all Arizona DHS site surveys and licensure requirements.

Job candidates looking to apply for positions may do so online at www.rapidrecoverycenter.com or in person at the Surprise or Phoenix facilities.  In total it expects to hire more than 800 people including nurses, physical therapists, support staff and kitchen staff.

Rapid Recovery from Mainstreet Health is also opening facilities in Texas, and plans to announce additional market expansions as it continues its rapid growth.
