NEW YORK, Dec. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Health Plan Radar (www.HealthPlanRadar.com) announces their new Affordability Rankings for Obamacare plans on healthcare.gov and off-exchange plans. With monthly premiums increasing, it is also important to think about the out-of-pocket cost levels (deductibles, copays, coinsurance) of each plan.  Affordability Rankings consider both premiums and out-of-pocket costs so that people can better understand total expected costs for each plan.

Affordability Rankings

Health Plan Radar's Affordability Ranking system uses an algorithm which estimates the total out-of-pocket costs (deductibles, copays, coinsurance) the average person will face for each plan. The Affordability Ranking system combines a plan's total annual premium cost and the average out-of-pocket cost amount to calculate the average total cost for each plan, and assigns a ranking number. Rankings also consider subsidy amount and plan metal levels (bronze, silver, gold, platinum).

Help With Obamacare Subsidy Application and/or Plan Enrollment

The government certifies and allows web-brokers to help people apply for an Obamacare subsidy and enroll in healthcare.gov plans or off-exchange plans. However, web-brokers are not required to offer all plans. Health Plan Radar shows different web-brokers that can provide assistance for each plan. Web-brokers are required to sell plans at the same market price – so why not get free help from a web broker?!
