The new study is the latest in a series of advocacy studies performed by Best Practices, LLC and it demonstrates that pharma is increasingly relying on collaborations with advocacy groups to reach patients:
- In 2014, the number of advocacy groups supported by benchmark partners averaged 7.6 and in 2015, it was 10.6 groups. In 2016, companies expect to support about 15 advocacy groups, up by 40% over 2015, according to the new study.
- Meanwhile, companies have about five FTEs in their patient advocacy groups, on average. These employees have more than five years of advocacy experience, on average, the study found.
