BINGHAM FARMS, Mich., June 9 The State of Michigan Health Information Technology (HIT) Commission announced that my1HIEŽ (My One Health Information Exchange) is a recipient of a 2010 Health Information Technology Leadership Innovation Award at the 3rd Annual Wiring Michigan Conference held at Soaring Eagle Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

Designed by physicians for physicians, my1HIEŽ connects physicians to an ever-expanding network of healthcare providers and enables them to share critical patient information, collaborate on patient care, and access key clinical applications at the point-of-care. Currently, my1HIEŽ is comprised of a wide-ranging community of users that include virtually all facets of the healthcare industry - 7 physician organizations representing over 6,000 physicians, 4 healthcare systems representing 15 hospitals, 5 laboratories, 6 radiology centers, and a health plan.

According to Randall Bickle, DO, President and Medical Director of Olympia Medical Services, a physician organization representing over 500 doctors in southeast Michigan, "As the medical industry continues to adopt Health Information Technology, my1HIEŽ offers our physicians HIPAA-secure connectivity to other physicians and a powerful combination of clinical applications that continues to grow - without the need for a large capital investment to get involved."
Participating physicians utilize My Workspace(SM), the physician web portal, to access my1HIEŽ and its comprehensive suite of clinical applications through a single sign-on interface. Available clinical applications include e-Prescribing, Patient Registries, e-Labs and secure HIPAA compliant communication tools.
