Notified in October that CTC will have to close all of its facilities because of state budgetary cuts, CTC will now be able to maintain 60 work release beds for males at its Braddock facility, and 88 beds at its Erie location: 40 beds for male parole violators, and 48 beds for men and women receiving alcohol and other drug related treatment.

"After extensive discussion with legislators and the State Association of Rehab Providers, I'm pleased to report that the previously announced impending closure of all CTC facilities will not take place," said Paul Bacharach, president and CEO of Gateway Rehab, in an email to CTC and Gateway Rehab employees.  "While census in the facilities declined through this period of uncertainty with the DOC, we are already experiencing a return to the normal activity levels."

Also announced in the email from Bacharach is a planned relocation of Cece's Place, Gateway Rehab's female halfway house, from Aliquippa to Braddock.  With its relocation to the Rectory Building adjacent to CTC's Braddock facility, Cece's Place will maintain a capacity of 24 beds for women.

Community Transition Centers provides residential programming for adult offenders who have reentry needs that include recovery from addiction. It is accredited by the American Correctional Association, and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.  In addition to the PA Department of Corrections and the PA Board of Probation and Parole, CTC is also contracted with various Single County Authorities and Managed Care organizations.
