eyeonics' Fourth Quarter Sales Increase 144%

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Jan. 10 eyeonics(R), inc., developerof the crystalens(R), the first and only FDA approved accommodatingintraocular lens, announced today that revenues for the fourth quarter endedDecember 31, 2007 totaled $10.4 million, an increase of 144 percent over theprior year's fourth quarter revenues of $4.3 million. The crystalens has nowbeen implanted in more than 95,000 eyes worldwide. For the year endedDecember 31, 2007 revenues totaled $34.0 million, an increase of 99 percentover the prior year's revenues of $17.1 million.

The crystalens was approved by the FDA in November 2003. During clinicaltrials, all of the patients who received the crystalens greatly reduced theirneed for corrective lenses or eyeglasses. The patented crystalens technologyis designed to allow the lens to move in the eye in a manner similar to thenatural human lens.
