NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Over the past three years, Internal Medicine In-Review, created by Educational Testing and Assessment Systems (ETAS), has prepared over 13,000 healthcare professionals nationwide for Board certifying exams with its complimentary educational resources.  Since 2012, its inaugural year of availability, the makers of TYLENOL® have sponsored the multi-component learning system, making it available free-of-charge to internal medicine residents and residency programs.  Last week, ETAS launched a new Internal Medicine In-Review website with a revamped interface and navigation.

The website, InReviewIM.com, has served as a comprehensive and interactive Board prep study system for over 3,100 internal medicine residents to-date.  "It has become a trusted resource center for many, and these new updates are only going to make it more accessible and intuitive—hopefully growing its popularity," says Associate Editor, Chukwuemeka Charles Ezeoke MD, LT (USN) of Saint Louis University Hospital.

Enhancements to the online study system include a fresh new look with improved navigation for a practical and user-friendly experience; additionally, the new website boasts a responsive design that works on tablets and smartphones, as well as customizable functionalities, wherein registrants can personalize their dashboard and review their quiz results.

Shelley Tanner, president and CEO of SanovaWorks, the parent company of ETAS, explains that they revamped the website in response to physicians' feedback: "Our market research showed that website users didn't necessarily know about the different study tools, like custom quizzes, printable flashcards, and detailed answer review—they were just using it for one feature alone.  With that in mind, we decided to revisit the layout, give more info about the program prior to registration, and make it mobile-compatible."

In addition to these design and functionality optimizations, ETAS is continuing to update the website's content: a PDF of the 2nd Edition Study Guide is available to download and the online question bank is continually updated with over 1,300 Board prep Q&A.  The quality of the website's content has been consistently praised: "I really found the questions helpful for my board preparation," says Suresh Kachhdiya MD, who recently graduated from the internal medicine residency program at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine.  Dr. Raja Ramesh Gummalla at John H. Stronger Hospital of Cook County agrees, "it is one of the best resources for Board preparation" with "more than 1,000 MCQs that are very useful."

Authored by recent residency graduates and veteran physician educators, all of the Board review questions are reviewed and approved by Internal Medicine In-Review faculty, including Miguel A. Paniagua MD, FACP, James M. Horowitz MD, and Norman H. Ertel MD.

The Internal Medicine In-Review Online Study System is accessible at InReviewIM.com; registration is free for all internal medicine residents and program directors, through support from the makers of TYLENOL®.
