During the past year, Michael has provided exemplary support to the ICFNE community while fulfilling his mission to inspire family and professional caregivers with practical strategies to avoid burnout and recharge their caregiving energy now.  Some of his most noteworthy accomplishments that led to his nomination for "Life Coach of the Year" include:

• Published first book in the fall of 2013, The Accidental Caregiver's Survival Guide to offer life saving tips to support caregivers everywhere at a time when the lives they save may very well be their own.

• Hosted monthly Caregiving Power Hour teleseminars with tips, strategies, and group coaching to recharge the energy of family caregivers globally. Caregivers can always access free registration at http://www.caregivingpowerhour.com

• Sought after guest blogger, interview guest, and conference presenter who appeared in over a dozen radio, television, and web based programs to provide insight on emerging trends in elder care.

Bloom served as primary caregiver for his parents in their final years, and his work honors their legacy.  He recalls that it took just about every ounce of his being to care for his parents and not lose himself in the process.

"I can now reflect on my caregiving journey as soul-fulfilling and transformative," he said. "I provided care without regret and supported my parents to age in place and die with dignity in the comfort of their own home."

On June 16 at its annual Gala at the Doubletree Hotel in Westborough, MA , ICFNE will announce the winners of Coach of the Year Awards.  Bloom is honored by his nomination for this prestigious award and shared, "I accept this nomination in recognition of the caregivers who work selflessly each and every day to provide high quality supports to their loved ones or clients."
