McCollum Memorial LectureMeeting Nutrient Needs during the First 1000 Days: A Global Challenge but a Wise Investment Featuring Kathryn Dewey, PhD Distinguished Professor, Department of Nutrition Director, Program in International and Community Nutrition University of California, Davis  Monday, April 28, 1:45-2:45 p.m.  Dr. Dewey's research area is community and international nutrition, with an emphasis on maternal and child nutrition.

Atwater Memorial Lecture Energetics and Obesity: Epistemological, Evidentiary, and Social Challenges in Advancing Knowledge Featuring David Allison, PhD Distinguished Professor Quetelet Endowed Professor of Public Health Director, Nutrition Obesity Research Center University of Alabama at Birmingham Supported by Agricultural Research Service, USDA  Tuesday, April 29, 12:45-1:45 p.m. Dr. Allison's research includes the effects of obesity and calorie restriction on longevity and mortality, genetic and environmental influences on obesity, and clinical trial design and analysis. 

Danone International Prize for Nutrition Lecture Supported by Danone Institute International Tuesday, April 29, 5:00-6:15 p.m. [Embargoed until 5:00 pm PT on April 29].

Gilbert A. Leveille Lecture at IFT 14 In addition, ASN partners with the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) to present the Gilbert A. Leveille, PhD Award and Lectureship. In 2014, IFT will host the Leveille Lecture at its Annual Meeting and Food Expo, June 21-24, New Orleans, LA. The recipient is John Erdman, PhD, ASN Fellow. Dr. Erdman is Professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
