A Philadelphia suburb and Havertown native, Hansen won the highest Olympicaccolade alongside famed swimming teammate Michael Phelps in the Men's 4x100mMedley Relay in Beijing on August 16th. Of the hundreds of Olympic SummerGames US athletes, Hansen is one of twenty-two 2008 Olympic competitors withPhiladelphia area connections.

The aloft Philadelphia Airport Hotel is honored to host thiscongratulatory event for Brendan Hansen. Emphasizing its national and localpride as well as its commitment to local charitable efforts, proceeds from theevent will directly benefit the Cancer Center at Children's Hospital ofPhiladelphia. The event on Friday night will be a culmination of a day-longvisit to the renowned hospital by Brendan Hansen. Nina Timani, Director ofSales and Marketing, aloft, said, "When we learned of Brendan Hansen's visitto Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on September 12th, we decided to hostan event in his honor and continue to support the hospital through theproceeds. The city of Philadelphia will also be acknowledging the Olympic GoldMedalist, along with aloft on September 12th. Margaret Hughes, Deputy CityRepresentative, will be presenting Hansen with a special award during theevent on Friday night, to honor his accomplishment and local Philadelphiaties.
