ZINO Society's Call for Life Sciences Entrepreneurs Seeking Funding

SEATTLE, Dec. 8 ZINO Society is pleased to present ZINOLife: Life Sciences Investment Forum in partnership with the WashingtonBiotechnology and Biomedical Association (WBBA), on February 24, 2009.

ZINO Life will include exhibition space, networking, companypresentations, keynote speaker Bruce Montgomery (Gilead Sciences), and anexpert panel including H. Stewart Parker (formerly Targeted Genetics), WayneEmbree (Reference Capital Management LLC), Alan Smith (Fenwick & West LLP) andothers. The day culminates with a wine reception and People's Choice Awardsfor presenters. In addition, one of the 12 companies will be invited topresent at WBBA's Invest Northwest conference, March 17th - 18th 2009.

Reference Capital will select the best investment opportunity asdetermined by Reference Capital Management LLC and a $50,000 fund will beawarded in early 2009. "We see excellent opportunities within the LifeSciences in the region and we want to capitalize on them," said Founder andManaging Director of Reference Capital, Wayne Embree.

Selection Process:

Twelve early stage or expansion companies in the areas of life sciences,biotechnology, medical devices, diagnostics, and health-care informationtechnology looking for start up or expansion capital. Companies will beselected to present their business plans to angel investors and businessleaders.

Companies who would like to be considered to present at ZINO Life need tosubmit an online application, upload an executive summary that is no more than5 pages long, and pay a $150 application fee.

The ZINO Society screening board will select a group of semi-finalists tomove forward to a second level screening round. Those companies will be askedto present to the ZINO Society screening/coaching board on January 22 or 23,2009. From these finalists, 12 companies will be selected to present theirbusinesses at ZINO Life on February 24, 2009. The companies selected topresent will participate in two coaching sessions prior to the forum, includedin the presentation fee. The goal of the coaching sessions is to help eachpresenter be as effective as possible during his/her presentation to theinvestors.
