Dr. Steven Siepser Contributes Lasik Eye Procedure to Shane Victorino Foundation

WAYNE, Pa., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Steven Siepser, M.D., one of the Delaware Valley's most distinguished ophthalmologists, is donating a Lasik eye procedure to the Shane Victorino Foundation.

Dr. Siepser's donation is part of the foundation's All-Star Celebrity Fashion Show, a benefit dinner including a silent auction and celebrity fashion show featuring Philadelphia Phillies stars, their wives and other personalities on Monday, Aug. 16, at the Union League of Philadelphia.

The celebrity fashion show will include Ryan Howard, Jamie and Karen Moyer, Jimmy and Johari Rollins, Shane and Melissa Victorino, boxing great Bernard Hopkins and other personalities.

Money raised during the benefit goes to the Shane Victorino Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps underprivileged youth in Hawaii and Philadelphia with educational, recreational and wellness programs.  

Dr. Siepser is donating a Lasik procedure, a $5,900 value, as a silent auction item to help raise funds for the foundation.

"I feel honored that Shane Victorino has accepted my offer to use my skill to help raise money for his worthy foundation," says Dr. Siepser. "It's gratifying to know that my donation will go to a foundation that has a direct impact on the lives of young people in the Philadelphia area."

Dr. Siepser was among the first group of doctors in the Delaware Valley to use the innovative VISX laser for vision correction. The VISX laser allows for more individualized vision correction.

Dr. Siepser has improved the vision of a variety of local personalities and their families, including Vince Papale, Bobby Taylor, Chad Lewis, Larry Brown, Scott Palmer and Shane Victorino's wife, Melissa.

Dr. Siepser is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He holds six patents, five of which help improve patients' vision.
