William J. Nelson, DDS, Elected to Board of Trustees of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

ROSEMONT, Ill., Oct. 31 Dr. William J. Nelson of Green Bay, Wis., has been elected to a two-year term as District IV Trustee on the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Board of Trustees. Dr. Nelson was installed at the conclusion of the AAOMS's 90th Annual Meeting, Scientific Sessions and Exhibition, September 16-20, 2008, in Seattle, Wash. As the District IV Trustee, Dr. Nelson represents the oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin, as well as those OMSs in the Veterans Administration and the United States Public Health Service.

Dr. Nelson is a partner in BayCare Clinic, LLP., Green Bay, Wis., which provides dental and medical services to patients in Northeast Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.



Dr. Nelson is a past president and member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) Board of Directors. He received his dental degree from Creighton University and completed his surgical training at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, LaCrosse, Wis. In addition, he holds national and international academic appointments. Dr. Nelson is a diplomate of the ABOMS and a fellow of the AAOMS.



More than 4,000 registrants, including oral and maxillofacial surgeons from around the world, attended the AAOMS Annual Meeting where they conducted association business, discussed surgical procedures, earned continuing education credits and met with dental industry suppliers.
