William C. Moyers Appointed Vice President of Foundation Relations for Hazelden

CENTER CITY, Minn., Aug. 25 Hazelden, a national nonprofit organization that helps people reclaim their lives from addiction, has appointed William C. Moyers as Vice President of Foundation Relations.

"I'm very pleased to announce the appointment of William C. Moyers as Vice President of Foundation Relations for Hazelden," said Mark Mishek, Hazelden President and CEO. "In this new role, William will lead Hazelden's advocacy, philanthropy and community relations efforts."

Moyers brings a deep understanding and strong personal commitment to recovery. He is a nationally renowned author and speaker who reaches thousands of people each year sharing his own personal experiences with the perils of addiction and the power of recovery.

Prior to joining Hazelden in 1996, Moyers was an award-winning journalist with CNN, Newsday and various other news organizations around the country. He is the author of bestselling memoir, Broken, and a popular recovery journal/DVD, A New Day, A New Life. Moyers has appeared on Larry King Live (CNN), The Today Show (NBC), Good Morning America (ABC), and The Oprah Winfrey Show. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, and Newsweek magazine. He also writes Beyond Addiction, a nationally syndicated column on addiction and recovery-related issues for Creators Syndicate.
