Grand Opening Event to Include Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, Free HIV Testing
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This Saturday, February 2nd at 10:00 a.m., AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) will celebrate the opening of its newest 'AHF Pharmacy' with a grand opening event to include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and free HIV testing. Located in West Hollywood at 8212 Santa Monica Blvd. adjacent to AHF's popular and award-winning 'Out of the Closet' thrift store, the pharmacy will offer HIV/AIDS expertise, as well as free HIV testing and other health screenings. This innovative model also offers consumers the chance to make a difference with their prescription dollars, as money made by the non-profit 'AHF Pharmacy' will go toward providing HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment for those in need. The West Hollywood location is the seventh 'AHF Pharmacy' to open in California and the first to open alongside an AHF 'Out of the Closet' thrift store. With seventeen stores throughout California -- and one South Florida -- the 'Out of the Closet' thrift store chain is the nation's largest retail fundraising vehicle for HIV/AIDS medical care and research. Several of the stores offer free HIV testing as part of AHF's innovative, alternative-site HIV testing program -- the largest such program in the state. In addition to its pharmacy operations, the West Hollywood 'AHF Pharmacy' will offer free, anonymous and confidential HIV testing and blood pressure & diabetes screenings.
