ATLANTA, Aug. 11 Sean Carroll, CEO of Atlanta-based Webmedx, has been appointed to serve as a board member of the philanthropic and charitable arm of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). The AHIMA Foundation, which was established in 1962, is a non-profit organization that provides development, research and scholarships for health information management (HIM) professionals. As a board member, Carroll will help to ensure that the AHIMA Foundation continues its goal of serving the healthcare industry and its consumers by providing resources for national leadership and innovation.

As CEO of Webmedx, Carroll has been recognized as a forward-thinking, passionate member of the healthcare community. Under his guidance, the company's medical transcription products and services have continued to evolve with emerging technologies and opportunities. He has previously served on the boards of other organizations that support businesses and individuals in the industry.
