VisualSonics Appoints New President and CEO

TORONTO, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ - VisualSonics Inc., a leader in real time, in vivo, high-resolution micro imaging systems, today announced that the Board of Directors has permanently appointed Anil Amlani, as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Amlani, previously the Chief Financial Officer, has served as interim President and Chief Executive Office since May 2009.

Mr. Amlani, who joined VisualSonics in 2005, was previously responsible for the strategic direction of the Company by overseeing its short- and long-term operations and implementing corporate development, financial management and long-term business plans. Prior to joining VisualSonics, Mr. Amlani was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at MDS Proteomics and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Cancom, where he successfully managed financings raising in excess of $600 million. He previously held senior positions at TD Bank including Head of Finance, Commercial and Retail Banking; and with AT&T Canada as Senior Vice President of Wholesale division and Strategic Planning and New Business Development. Mr. Amlani obtained his Chartered Accountancy designation in London, England and Canada.
