FORT LEE, N.J., Aug. 14 The National Inflation Association today released the following statement to its http://inflation.us members:

"We believe the violence erupting today at health care town hall meetings is only a sign of things to come. These meetings will likely get louder and more raucous in the upcoming weeks and if Obama moves forward with his plan to socialize health care in America, the violence could potentially escalate to an uncontrollable level.

Obama knows this and is now calling for citizens to denounce opponents of his health care plan. Obama wants citizens to forward emails about his health care reform that sound "fishy" to [email protected]. Although the Obama administration has not indicated what they will do with this information, it is very troubling and really shows their authoritarian mindset. It appears as though the White House is looking to limit free speech through intimidation.

Despite the economic crisis in the United States today, we still have the best quality health care in the world. By reforming the health care system with a bill that nobody has read and is impossible to understand, we are guaranteed to destroy the quality of health care in America.

The key to affordable health care in the U.S. is to get the government out of health care. Every time the government gets involved with anything, inflation gravitates towards it. When the government began providing student loans to make college affordable, college tuition prices skyrocketed. When the government created Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make housing affordable, housing prices went through the roof. Today, government subsidies that encourage an employer based health insurance system, have driven health care costs to astronomical levels.

If you are employed by a company and do not participate in an employer based health insurance plan, you are only allowed to deduct health care expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income on your personal tax return. However, if your employer provides health insurance for you, they can deduct 100% of the health insurance costs.

If the government ended tax incentives for businesses to provide health insurance to their employees and allowed individuals to deduct 100% of their health insurance costs on their own, Americans will be able to take home higher wages and purchase their own health insurance plans. With millions of people looking to purchase health insurance, free market forces would create more competition in the health insurance industry and drive health care prices down.

Obama is looking to do the opposite of this. By the government providing health insurance on its own at below market costs, they will drive the competition out of health care and create chaos. The most talented doctors will no longer want to work in the industry and the quality of health care will deteriorate. Government price controls have never fixed anything, just ask the people of Zimbabwe. Free market forces are more efficient than clueless politicians in Washington 100% of the time.

We will be attending multiple town hall meetings and health care protests in the weeks ahead and bringing to you footage of these events on our video page."
