The Pennsylvania Satellite News Service will provide a digital satellite video feed between 4 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. (16:00 to 16:15 Eastern) today, Thursday, March 18, of state Insurance Commissioner Joel Ario marking the 18th anniversary of the Children's Health Insurance Program, better known as CHIP. The feed will include a sound bite with Governor Edward G. Rendell.
Today's celebration, held during Cover the Uninsured Week, highlighted how CHIP has provided quality health coverage to more than 800,000 Pennsylvania children since 1992. More than 195,000 children are currently covered by CHIP.
