Video Feed: Governor Rendell: Demand for Autism Services Expected to Continue to Rise

The Pennsylvania Satellite News Service will provide a digital satellite video feed between 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. (15:30 - 15:45 Eastern) today, Wednesday, Nov. 18, of Governor Edward G. Rendell releasing a new report that predicts the number of Pennsylvanians living with autism will grow to at least 25,000 by 2010. In 2005, an estimated 20,000 Pennsylvanians were living with the condition. Pennsylvania is the first state to compile and release such detailed information on autism.

Note: Allegheny, Philadelphia and Montgomery counties were identified as having the highest number of individuals with autism. Warren, Pike, Clearfield, Mercer and Monroe counties showed the highest prevalence of autism.
