ValueOptions(R) Awards Coordination of Benefits and Overpayment Services Contract to HMS

NEW YORK, Aug. 11 HMS today announced that it had been awarded a contract by ValueOptions(R), a behavioral health care company headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, to perform coordination of benefits and overpayment services for ValueOptions(R) at risk Plans, which cover approximately 1.5 million Medicaid members in five states. HMS will identify ValueOptions(R) Medicaid members that have other healthcare coverage, and recover overpayments from liable third parties.

"This contract extends HMS's reach into the behavioral health market, where we can play a significant role in helping Medicaid control the escalating costs of mental health services," said Christina Dragonetti, HMS Executive Vice President for Managed Care Services.
