Dozoretz Recognized for Decades of Commitment to Improving the Quality of Behavioral Health Care Services

NORFOLK, Va., May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- At its commencement ceremony this month, The State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo recognized Dr. Ron Dozoretz for his pioneering leadership in behavioral health and wellness by honoring him with the 2011 State University of New York Honorary Doctorate in Science. Dr. Dozoretz received his M.D. and B.A. from SUNY Buffalo in 1962 and 1957, respectively.

Dr. Dozoretz's was one of two honorary degrees presented on May 15 at the 165th commencement in Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Dozoretz's career is marked by his tireless efforts to improve access to health care services . In 1987, he founded one of the nation's first managed behavioral health care companies, now known as ValueOptions®. He has continued to serve as the company's chairman.
