CLEVELAND, Dec. 9 Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS),a leading provider of innovative IT solutions, including specifically-designedhospitality software solutions, has announced that University Hospitals inCleveland has selected a suite of solutions from Agilysys to streamlineefficiency and control costs at nine locations, including seven hospitals, anextended care facility and its management services center. UniversityHospitals is implementing the InfoGenesis POS(TM), eMenu, eCash andHospitality Analytics solutions by Agilysys.

Sodexo Health Care Services, which manages dining services for UniversityHospitals, wanted a comprehensive point-of-sale system that offered a widerange of features and functionality, including kiosk ordering in waitingareas; desktop ordering for hospital staff; credit card processing; barcodetechnology; and wireless POS capabilities. The company also wanted a businessintelligence solution that could create sales forecast and sales trend reportson both an enterprise and individual unit basis.
According to Dan Ballard, retail operations manager at Sodexo Health CareServices, the Agilysys solutions met -- and surpassed -- the company's strictcriteria. "We were impressed at the range of capabilities the InfoGenesis POSand Hospitality Analytics solutions provided," he said. University Hospitals is using the following solutions from Agilysys:
-- InfoGenesis POS, an enterprise-ready point-of-sale system that combinespowerful reporting and configuration capabilities with a touch-screen terminalapplication. The InfoGenesis wireless POS solution is used for food deliverythroughout the hospital and to speed transactions in cafeteria lines.University Hospitals also creates barcode labels for pre-made food items anduses the InfoGenesis POS barcode scanning module to streamline transactiontime and track sales of those items.
-- eMenu, an online ordering solution that enables kiosk and Web mealordering. Kiosks in waiting areas allow hospital visitors to place food ordersquickly and easily. Orders can then be picked up or delivered. In the nearfuture, employees will use eMenu's desktop capabilities to order and pay formeals directly from their computers.
-- eCash, a user-administrated, stored-value solution that enables foodservice operators to offer a cashless payment option to employees. UniversityHospitals offers staff the convenience and speed of purchasing food withoutcash at its cafeterias and vending machines. Employees simply log into theireCash accounts to view purchases and account balances.
-- Hospitality Analytics, a business intelligence tool that consolidatesdata across disparate systems and multiple geographic locations into a single,integrated source for comprehensive reporting, auditing and predictiveanalysis. University Hospitals uses the solution to review food costs, salestrends and profitability at multiple locations. Based on the HospitalityAnalytics reports, University Hospitals can modify prices, add or remove menuitems and adjust staffing levels.
