The agreement extends the relationship between UHC and Chamberlin Edmondsthat began in 2003. UHC opened the contract to competitive bidding and madeits decision based on extensive evaluation of the bidders' proposals as wellas its firsthand experience with Chamberlin Edmonds' expertise, informationtechnology capabilities, implementation, and follow-up methods. Under terms ofthe new agreement, Chamberlin Edmonds will continue to be the exclusiveprovider of comprehensive eligibility services for UHC and will make itsservices available to UHC's alliance of 102 academic medical centers.
