USHEALTH Group Announces Appointment of Executive Vice President

FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 12 Benjamin M. Cutler, Chairmanand Chief Executive Officer of USHEALTH Group, Inc. (USHEALTH), a leadingnational health insurer providing affordable coverage to small business ownersand the self-employed, announced today the promotion of Konrad H. Kober toExecutive Vice President, Chief Administration Officer. In this expanded role,Kober will oversee USHEALTH's Information Services Division in addition to hisother responsibilities. Cutler noted that Kober's promotion was reflective ofhis numerous contributions towards fulfilling the Company's objective ofbecoming the premier career agency health insurance company in the UnitedStates.

Kober's prior position with USHEALTH was Senior Vice President. Kober alsois a Director and Senior Officer of USHEALTH's insurance affiliates NationalFoundation Life Insurance Company and Freedom Life Insurance Company ofAmerica.

He holds an undergraduate business degree from the University of NorthTexas, and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute and an Associate ofLife and Health Claims. Mr. Kober joined the Company in July 1990 as theAssistant Vice President of Claims Review/Communications and was promoted inJune 1994 to Vice President of Claims Administration where he served until hispromotion to Senior Vice President, Chief Administration Officer in March1999.
