What: Forum speakers and presenters will discuss new opportunities for preventive care and education in the health care industry. MAYA is partnering with the non-profit organization, Latino Issues Forum, to survey Latino leaders on health policy barriers and solutions to improve the health status of Latinos, as well as the best communication strategies to reach these communities. Those who participate in the conference call will gain exclusive access to the survey questions before anyone else.

Who: Government and health care leaders, politicians, and celebrities will speak at the forum.

Why: According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control's Office of Minority Health, there are continuing disparities in illness and death experienced by African-Americans, Hispanic, Asian Americans, and American Indians/Alaska Natives, as compared to the U.S. population as a whole. Statistical reviews of the gaps in health care highlight the need for awareness, prevention and treatment toward reducing the loss of life.

When: Feb. 12, 2008, 1:00 p.m. EST. To join the conference call, dial 800-351-4899 and enter passcode 34496.

Partners: Medicaid Health Plans of America, the Latino Issues Forum, and the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. For more information, visit the forum's link at: http://www.mayadc.com/ushdf/index.html.

Organizer: MAYA, a leading advertisement and communications firm, has nearly 20 years of experience in thought leadership in minority health care and has produced premier events like "Nuestra Gente: U.S. Latinos" and "The Hispanic Health Disparities Forum."
