"Our health care system is broken, and Governor Kathleen Sebelius is an excellent choice to lead the effort to fix it," Governor Schweitzer said. Governor O'Malley said he has worked with Sebelius for years and has always been impressed by her dedication to solving complex problems and her skill in finding solutions.
"President Obama has chosen an exceptional executive to spearhead the effort to tackle health care reform, one of the most essential issues of our time," O'Malley said. "Kathleen made a name for herself as a Governor who was interested in solutions and getting things done. I know she'll do the same as the head of the President's push to reform our health care system."
Governor Sebelius served as Chair of the Democratic Governors Association in 2007.
