CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 22 On Tuesday, November 18 Tree.comCFO Matt Packey will find himself in an orange jump suit locked up in an area"jail" to help raise money for Jerry's Kids(R) and the Muscular DystrophyAssociation (MDA). The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary healthagency and a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizensaimed at conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a millionAmericans.
Tree.com and Mr. Packey were tapped as community leaders in the effort toraise money for the MDA. Mr. Packey is hoping to spend as little time aspossible in jail, set up at the Ballantyne Village Theater. "I've challengedmy co-workers, friends and family members to help me get out of jail throughtheir donations. What I'm afraid of is they'll donate money but negotiate adeal to leave me in there," he laughs. "My goal is to raise $3,000 but I'dlove to contribute as much money as possible to this great cause."
MDA combats neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research,comprehensive medical and community services, and far-reaching professionaland public health education.
