The PercuNav system provides interventional radiologists and sonographerswith the broadest image fusion capabilities available for soft tissuenavigation. It also delivers powerful solutions for diagnostic imaging.Physicians can identify and mark areas of interest on CT or MR scans which canthen be overlaid with live ultrasound for diagnostic scanning. This allowsareas of interest to be quickly located and compared under both imagingmodalities, while compensating for patient motion and respiration.

Neil Glossop, PhD, Traxtal President, said, "The PercuNav's integrateddiagnostic image matching capabilities enable it to be used to rapidly crossmatch findings from diagnostic CT or MR with ultrasound or the reverse. Thisenables users to identify areas of interest on one modality and quicklycorrelate them to the location on another modality. This allows them to bettercharacterize the areas of interest and potentially increase the diagnosticyield. This feature is particularly valuable for lesions that are difficult tospot on one modality and may be helpful in determining how to treat thepatient."

Traxtal is in Booth 9539 in the North Building, Hall B of McCormick Placein Chicago for RSNA's annual meeting, which will be held from November 30 toDecember 5, 2008.

About the PercuNav System

The PercuNav system is the only computer assisted, image-guided diagnosticand interventional system cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration forall imaging modalities, and is the only such system that features a broadrange of flexible and rigid "tip-tracked" instruments. It is also the onlycommercially available soft tissue navigation system with trackedinstrumentation that provides the option of navigation with multimodal imagefusion with any single modality, such as CT or ultrasound imaging.

The PercuNav system consists of the Traxtal Tx(TM) mobile system cart,PercuNav software, and a wide range of instruments including flexible needles, biopsy devices and RFA introducers. Using minute electro-magnetic sensorsembedded in the tips of these instruments, the software superimposes theprecise, real-time location and orientation of the instruments on pre-operative and live images of the patient. The system also incorporatesadvanced techniques for compensating for patient motion and respiration. Itacts like a GPS system for medical instruments, and is the only such productavailable that allows accurate tracking of flexible instrument tips inside apatient's anatomy.

Traxtal is committed to providing seamless compatibility with all majorvendors' imaging systems.
