Town of Gilbert to Continue Southwest Ambulance as Exclusive 911 Ambulance Provider

GILBERT, Ariz., Dec. 4 The Gilbert Town Council voted unanimously to extend its current 911 emergency medical transportation services contract with Southwest Ambulance through December 31, 2009. The action took place at the Council's meeting on December 2nd.

"Southwest Ambulance is pleased with the opportunity to continue serving the needs of Gilbert," said Jeff Sargent, President of Southwest Ambulance. "Southwest Ambulance has built a trusting partnership with the Gilbert Fire Department to ensure town residents receive the very best in patient care. Gilbert, Arizona is one of the fastest growing communities in the United States. It currently has an estimated 175,000 residents with a projected build-out of 365,000 residents. The community is located 8.5 miles Southeast of Phoenix, with a planning area of 76 square miles. Southwest Ambulance, in partnership with Gilbert Fire, completed over 9,500 emergency ambulance transports originating within the Town since January 2007.
