This 1-day symposium emphasizing Clinical Science and professionaleducation is intended to provide a concise, state-of-the-art overview ofprophylaxis measures and critical developments in the diagnosis, treatment,and prevention of thrombotic disorders. Moritsugu, MD, MPH, RADM, USPHS. Since August 2006, Rear Admiral Kenneth P. Moritsugu has served as the Acting Surgeon General. -- Susan B. Shurin, MD, Deputy Director of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Shurin was Professor of Pediatrics and Oncology at Case Western Reserve University and Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland. Dr. Shurin is currently leading NHLBI efforts to enhance the clinical research program.
