Dr. Hirschman was a member of the Corporate Development & Innovations group of MEDRAD, Inc., serving as a senior biomedical engineer, Engineering Director, and Business Development executive. He contributed to that company's product portfolios, patent strategy and IP portfolio development and, with more than 40 US patents issued, he is an inventor of several core MEDRAD technologies.

Dr. Hirschman's detailed understanding of product development processes and standards, FDA regulations, human factors, intellectual property, reimbursement and product liability issues for medical devices were a driving force behind MEDRAD's growth and success in these areas.

"I am delighted to have been asked to join the Board of ThermalTherapeutic Systems and excited by the opportunity," said Dr. Hirschman. "In performing my duties for MEDRAD, I was fortunate to have access to a wide network of clinicians, technical professionals, and other advisors at major research institutions and hospitals around the US and in other countries. I hope to bring these experiences and relationships to ThermalTherapeutic Systems as well."

ThermalTherapeutic Systems, Inc. was founded in 2006 by a team of experts in the field of hyperthermic perfusion, medical device manufacturing, molecular diagnostics and technology commercialization. ThermalTherapeutic Systems is a product development company and the VERATHERM(TM) Portable Hyperthermic Perfusion System is the company's first product offering. The intended use of this device is to raise the core temperature of the thoracic or peritoneal cavity to the desired temperature by continuous lavage with circulating warmed, physiologically compatible sterile solution, according to a protocol selected by a physician ( www.thermaltherapeutics.com ).
