The Healthcare Communication & Marketing Association Announces June 2009 Conference and IN-AWE and Delta Awards Ceremony

MOUNT ROYAL, N.J., Jan. 8 The Healthcare Communication &Marketing Association (HCMA) today announced that its second annual conferenceand awards ceremony will take place at the new Westin Hotel in Jersey City,N.J. from June 17-19, 2009. For the first time, the event will focus on asingle directive: shaping the future of healthcare marketing. Leaders frommedical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics and healthcaremarketing services are invited to join The Family for a 'Sit Down,' to sharetheir knowledge and experiences during highly interactive workshop sessionsand networking events.

"This year's event will build on the momentum created at last year'sinaugural event in Dallas," said Jay Bolling, president of the HCMA. "Fromthis solid foundation, we will focus on how healthcare marketing andcommunication is shaped in the future -- from technology to physician access,to patients' roles in the healthcare decision-making process, to the ever-changing regulatory environment."

On January 1, 2008, the Medical Marketing Association (MMA), the MidwestHealthcare Marketing Association (MHMA) and the Healthcare Marketing andCommunication Council (HMC) merged to form the HCMA and have emergedstrengthened and renewed as the new national organization of healthcaremarketing, communication and education professionals. This year's conferencereflects the HCMA's mission to provide career development through qualityeducation, mentoring, interaction with industry thought leaders, andnetworking with peers.

"This is a unique conference that allows attendees to interact and shareideas with presenters, panelists and other attendees," said Neil Matheson,HCMA Board Liaison for the 2009 conference and awards ceremony. "This is oneof the premier industry events in 2009 and a valuable experience for anyone inhealthcare marketing, communications and education who wants to learn aboutthe trends that will shape the future of this industry, while recognizingtheir colleagues at the IN-AWE Awards."

During the 2009 HCMA event, an awards ceremony will take place torecognize the previous year's outstanding work through the InternationalAwards of Excellence, also known as the IN-AWE Awards, and the Delta Award,which recognizes professionals who have developed innovative programs that areassociated with exceptional leadership, creativity and results.
