The Harrah's Foundation Underwrites the AARP Foundation's Forum on Poverty and Aging

WASHINGTON, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Janet Beronio and Jan Jones, chair and vice chair of the Harrah's Foundation, today joined expert panels assembled by the AARP Foundation to explore the causes, consequences and potential community-based solutions to poverty and hunger. The forum was held today at AARP's Brickfield Center in Washington, D.C.

"The Harrah's Foundation is deeply committed to older adult hunger issues and I was honored to have the opportunity to share our foundation's roadmap in hopes other members of the business community will join us to help bring an end to hunger in older Americans," said Jan Jones, vice chairperson of the Harrah's Foundation and senior vice president of communications and government relations for Harrah's Entertainment.

In June of 2009, the Harrah's Foundation donated $1.1 million to the AARP Foundation to help fund programs for caregivers.
