MISSION VIEJO, Calif., June 9 The Ensign Group,Inc. (Nasdaq: ENSG), the parent company of the Ensign(TM) group of skillednursing, rehabilitative care services and assisted living companies, announcedtoday that John G. Nackel, Ph.D. has joined its board of directors. Mr. Nackelwas elected at last Friday's annual stockholder meeting, for a term expiringat the company's 2011 annual meeting. Ensign co-founder and Chairman Roy E.Christensen was also re-elected for a term expiring at the 2011 annualmeeting.

Mr. Nackel is the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer ofThree-Sixty Advisory Group, LLC, a healthcare consulting company dedicated tohelping emerging healthcare and medical technology companies speed their timeto value. He was previously the global managing director of Ernst & Young'sHealthcare Consulting business unit and managing director of its New Venturesunit. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of Sogeti North America, theprofessional services arm of Capgemini, an international consulting servicescompany. In addition, Mr. Nackel has served as an executive, board member orchairman of several privately held start-ups and emerging companies. He earnedhis bachelor's degree at Tufts University, master's degrees in public healthand industrial engineering at the University of Missouri, and a Ph.D. inindustrial engineering (health systems design) at the University of Missouri.He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) andthe Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He is asenior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). Ensign's Boardof Directors has appointed Mr. Nackel to its Audit Committee and itsCompensation Committee.
Mr. Christensen is a 46-year veteran of the long-term care industry, andwas founder and Chairman of Beverly Enterprises, Inc., GranCare, Inc. (whichlater merged into Mariner Post-Acute Network, Inc.), and Covenant Care, Inc.,all successful long-term care companies. He was a member of President Nixon'sHealthcare Advisory Task Force on Medicare and Medicaid, and spent four yearsas a member of the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare's Advisory TaskForce during the Nixon Administration. Mr. Christensen has served as Ensign'sChairman since 1999, and currently sits on the board's Quality Assurance andCompliance Committee.
In addition to electing directors, Ensign's stockholders ratified theappointment of Deloitte & Touche LLP as the company's independent registeredpublic accounting firm for fiscal year 2008.
