Thousands of Yogurt Smoothies Given Away



FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dannon Company, Inc. sponsored the third annual FitFuture KIDS Fest at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. The company, which has a manufacturing plant in Fort Worth, passed out thousands of bottles of free Dannon smoothies and demonstrated support for a healthier Tarrant County. The primary goal of Dannon's participation at FitFuture KIDS Fest is to help educate families about their food choices to ensure a healthy future.

"With obesity in Texas more than doubling since 1988, The Dannon Company wanted to show its support for FitFuture KIDS Fest's commitment to ending overweight and obesity in Tarrant County," said Gayle Binney, Manager, Corporate Responsibility, The Dannon Company. "Fort Worth, Texas has been home to one of our manufacturing facilities for many years, so Dannon has a natural interest in helping to improve the lives of the families in the community."

In addition to supporting FitFuture KIDS Fest, The Dannon Company has also awarded a $30,000 Dannon Next Generation Nutrition grant to one nonprofit organization during each of the last three years to help support community childhood nutrition education programs in Tarrant County. The Tarrant County nonprofit organizations that have received the Dannon Next Generation Nutrition Grant include: Big Brothers, Big Sisters and United Way of Tarrant County
