CHOP is the only hospital in the Delaware Valley on the prestigious Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA, May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has tied for the number one ranking on U.S.News & World Report's Honor Roll of Best Children's Hospitals. Ranking in the top four in all 10 specialties, CHOP is the only pediatric hospital in the Delaware Valley region named to the prestigious Honor Roll.

CHOP ranked first in Neonatology, Pulmonology, and Diabetes and Endocrinology; second in Cancer, Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery Orthopaedics and Urology; third in Gastroenterology and fourth in Nephrology.

The survey methodology weighed a blend of reputation, outcomes and care-related measures such as nursing care, infection prevention, patient volumes and other factors.

Each hospital received a "U.S. News Score" for each of the 10 specialties ranked. Eleven hospitals were named to this year's Honor Roll.
