The Children's Center of Wayne County Presents Annual Lisa V. Ford Volunteer Award and Celebrates Community Support
DETROIT, July 7 The Children's Center of Wayne County (TCC) proudly hosted the 1st annual Lisa V. Ford Heart & Soul Volunteer Recognition Luncheon as well as the Power of Possibilities Breakfast -A celebration of services.
The Lisa V. Ford Heart and Soul Volunteer Awards are bestowed annually to notable TCC volunteers and civic partners who demonstrate Lisa's spirit of generosity and love of The Children's Center.
2010 award recipients are:
Deborah Allen of Redford. Deborah has been an active volunteer with The Children's Center since 2003. She is a valued member of the Volunteer Services Advisory Committee and has chaired the annual Holiday Program for the past 5 years.
Tau Beta Association of Grosse Pointe. Tau Beta displays their dedication on a monthly basis through a multitude of activities and volunteer engagements including staffing the Tau Beta Center for Discovery, a multi-media resource center. Tau Beta has nearly 500 Senior and Junior members who have been avid supporters of The Children's Center since 2004.
According to Debora Matthews, CEO of The Children's Center, "We are so fortunate to have the commitment from Lisa V. Ford and a cadre of volunteers exemplifying the leadership and dedication Lisa has graciously led by example. Both the Volunteer Recognition Luncheon and the Power of Possibilities Breakfast exemplify our unwavering commitment to the children in the community as well as acknowledge of our phenomenal advocates who support us in helping children and families shape their own futures.
Matthews also added, "Special recognition is also given to Ford Motor Company for its sponsorship of both events; demonstrating Ford Motor Company's commitment and dedication to volunteerism and support of The Children's Center's mission."
