The award is part of the AMERIGROUP Foundation's national programrecognizing outstanding public advocacy efforts by government and communityleaders in improving the health and well-being of children nationwide.

To commemorate Rep. Davis' commitment to children and their families, a$2,500 Foundation contribution will be presented to the DePelchin Children'sCenter, which is the largest and most comprehensive provider of children'ssocial and mental health services in the Houston area. Rep. Davis said he ishonored by the award and appreciative of the Foundation's support in Houston.
