Peyton Watson of Katy, presented Bryant with just that circumstance. 10-year old Watson started raising money for breast cancer after watching her grandmother suffer with the disease since 2010. To help support her grandmother, Watson created her own unique campaign selling self-designed t-shirts with the slogan "Tuff Girl" on them. Tuff Girl was also inspired by Peyton's grandmother, Linda Crisp.
Watson also loves football and plays defensive tackle. That love for football has served her well in her Tuff Girl campaign, and she has been selected to go to this Sunday's big game as a part of the NFL's "Together We Make Football" program after being featured on the Today Show.
"Breast Cancer is a terrible disease and it has been our pleasure to help support Peyton in her quest to change the lives of cancer patients," Bryant said. Bryant's office sponsored Peyton's team, as well as made a donation to TUFF GIRL campaign at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
"We were sad to learn of Linda's passing, where as we've known Peyton and her family for many years. But everyone is very proud of Peyton and her commitment to this great cause," Bryant concluded.
