Earlier he flagged off ASICON Jagruti Yatra Vehicle, which will travel and reach Gurgaon where ASICON 2015 meet will be held from 17th to 20th December. The biggest contract of this conference was bagged by Hyderabad basd Violet Woldwide company, which is doing event set up with German structures in Gurgaon for ten thousand doctors.

Jagruti Yatra is a unique awareness activity, undertaken by ASICON. It is ASICON on Wheels. It is a unique initiative organized for the first time in the history of any Medical Conference in the world. The Platinum Jubilee Annual Conference of The Association of Surgeons of India will be held at Gurgaon from 17th to 20th December.
The conference at Gurgaon will be attended by 10000 (Ten thousand) Surgeons from all over India. The ASICON Jagruti Yatra is an initiative to reach out to its members at their door steps to create awareness about the forthcoming conference which will be held with the theme “Ensuring Safety in Surgery” with a focus on “Make in India” informed DR. Suresh Vasistha, President Elect 2015 of the Association of Surgeons of India.. The conference will ensure scientific deliberations ‘Gurukul Skills Centers’ for surgical skill enhancement of the young surgeons and surgical cognitive refinement through countrywide high-quality surgical teleconferencing, he said.
The ASICON JAGRUTI YATRA is also planned to mark the historic occasion and to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Minimal Access Surgical Revolution in India informed Dr. Suresh Vasistha.
The Association of Surgeons of India was established in 1938 to realize a long standing wish among the Indian surgeons to get together for the purpose of sharing each other’s experiences and enhancing their surgical skills. It has 23000 members from all over India, he said.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Suresh Vasistha, President Elect-2015, Association of Surgeons of India urged all the 23000 members of ASICON to perform one surgery free of cost every year. People are loosing trust in doctors. We must restore that trust by doing such charitable activities, he said. Further he assured the members that the ASICON will extend support to members in the matters of medico legal and social protection. He said PG Medical Students need more academic knowledge. So we will set up excellence centers for the benefit of such students across the country, informed Dr. Vashishta.
Earlier speaking on the past, present and future of metabolic surgery in Asia, Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala said three top most politicians have gone through bariatric surgery in the recent past. There are lot of doubts in the minds of the people about the surgery. He urged to train more doctors in surgical skills. India has picked up well in the field of medicine. Earlier we used to go abroad and now people are coming to India. We need a public policy on obesity in India. Technology should play a role to reach out to people to tell them that certain food is not good to eat to avoid obesity etc. Future is about innovation. Today more robots are used in surgeries, he said.
The first TS ASICON 2015 is the 1st Annual Conference of newly formed state.
