Systagenix Unveils SILVERCEL* Non-Adherent Silver Hydro Alginate Dressing
SILVERCEL* Non- Adherent dressing can be easily removed in one piecewithout adhering to the wound bed. Suitable for infected, chronic and acutewounds, SILVERCEL* Non -Adherent dressing has been uniquely designed to leavenothing behind but a clean, healing, wound.
With some dressing changes, removal can cause trauma to the wound bedcausing severe discomfort to the patient. Another problem reported byclinicians are dressing fibres or residue left in the wound followingdressing change that can lead to damage to newly formed tissue and increasedpain for the patient. With easy one-piece removal, SILVERCEL* Non- Adherentdressing can help protect the wound from potential damage caused by dressingadherence to the wound bed.
The dressing is comprised of a highly absorbent inner layer of silveralginate which has been shown to release silver ions into wound fluid for upto seven days in vitro .Silver is a powerful antimicrobial agent, effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria including resistant strains. The unique perforated non-adherent outer layer gently protects the woundwhilst allowing the unimpeded flow of exudate into the dressing. SILVERCEL*Non- Adherent dressing conforms to the wound bed for complete coverage whenmoist and can be easily removed in one-piece, even as exudate levels reduce.
SILVERCEL* Non- Adherent dressing is effective against viruses, fungi andover 150 strains of clinically relevant microorganisms in vitro, includingMRSA, MRSE and VRE. Ongoing antimicrobial protection has been proven by asustained and balanced release of silver ions within simulated wound fluidfor up to seven days in vitro.
SILVERCEL* Non- Adherent dressing is the latest product to join a fullline of Systagenix wound management products. Steve Atkinson CEO SystagenixWound Management comments, "Systagenix is committed to providing innovativesolutions to the global wound care community. SILVERCEL* Non- Adherentdressing is a unique innovation, combining a powerful silver antimicrobialdressing and a new non-adherent wound contact layer, helping to make thedressing change experience for patients a lot more tolerable.
"SILVERCEL* Non-Adherent should also provide clinicians with quicker andmore convenient dressing changes. Antimicrobial treatments continue to drivegrowth in the wound care market, and the launch of SILVERCEL* Non-Adherentdressing further strengthens the position of Systagenix Wound Management as atechnology leader in antimicrobial wound care" concludes Steve.

ACTISORB(R) Activated Charcoal Dressing with Silver - helps to manageinfection through its unique mode of action that traps and kills bacteria andeliminates malodors. The first commercialized silver dressing available atthe time of its launch in 1980. The safety and efficacy of ACTISORB(R)Dressings is now supported with published clinical evidence in over 13,000patients.
ADAPTIC(R) Non-Adhering Dressing - helps to protect regenerating tissueand minimizes patient pain and trauma during dressing changes.
INADINE(R) PVP-I Non-Adherent Dressing - a topical wound dressingimpregnated with an ointment containing 10% povidone iodine is indicated forthe management of ulcerative wounds and may also be used for the preventionof infection in minor burns and minor traumatic skin loss injuries
NU-GEL(R) Hydrogel with Alginate - a transparent hydro active amorphousgel containing sodium alginate creates a moist wound-healing environment, which assists with natural autolytic debridement and desloughing of wounds.
PROMOGRAN(R) Matrix Dressing - a unique, clinically proven combination ofcollagen and oxidized regenerated cellulose ("ORC"); facilitates tissuegranulation through modulation of the wound environment.
PROMOGRAN PRISMA(TM) Balancing Matrix Dressing - combines collagen andORC with an optimal level of silver; helps restore the normal wound-healingenvironment by reducing bacterial levels without causing harm to host cells.
REGRANEX(R) (becaplermin) Gel 0.01% - a gel containing recombinant humanplatelet derived growth factor; the first and only growth factor approved forclinical use in the U.S. and Europe to heal and close lower extremitydiabetic neuropathic ulcers.
SILVERCEL(R) Non-Adherent Anti-microbial Alginate Dressing - provides acontrolled, balanced and sustained release of silver that helps manageinfection and exudates incorporating a non-adherent layer to minimise damageand pain for easy, intact removal.
TIELLE(R) Hydropolymer Dressings - a broad range of foam dressingshandling different levels of exudates to reduce wound maceration and leakagewhile optimizing cost effectiveness through increased dressing wear time.
Professional General Wound Care Products:
TOPPER(R) Drain Swab and TOPPER(R) Non-Woven Fabric Swab - a uniquerayon/polyester, non-woven sponge that provides improved strength, absorbency, and scrubbing texture compared to traditional gauze.
RELEASE(R) Low-Adherent Dressing - utilizes a unique perforated filmdesign that directs exudates away from the wound; minimizes discomfort andtissue damage during dressing changes.
REGAL(R) Filmated Non-Woven Swab - a multi-layer absorbent swab coveredwith a film of viscose fibers to disperse exudates and to provide enhancedabsorption capability.
