PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Susan B. Stillwell, DNP, R.N., ANEF, FAAN is recognized by Continental Who'sWho as a Pinnacle Professional of the Year in the Nursing field.
Dr. Stillwell's professional title is Associate Dean for Graduate Education at the University of Portland School of Nursing. Her day-to-day responsibilities
With expertise in evidence-based practice, nursing education curriculum and program development, and nursing education research, Dr. Stillwell has been in her current position since 2012 and has worked in the field since 1972. She is well-known for creating the Nurse Educator Evidence-Based Practice mentorship program, and is highly regarded for her excellence in teaching expertise in evidenced-based practice and dissemination of work in peer-reviewed publications. She is also proud of her work in advancing evidence-based practice in schools of nursing and healthcare organizations.
In addition to her work in the classroom, Dr. Stillwell has published the Critical Care Nursing Reference book and is a global public speaker.

Dr. Stillwell earned her DNP in Nursing Education from Samford University. To further her professional development, she maintains membership in the American Academy of Nursing, American Nurses Association, National League for Nurses, American Association of Critical Care Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau and the American Health Council. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the Academy of Nursing Education National League for Nursing, and is a member of Providence Portland Medical Foundation's Grants Review Committee.
In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments in the field, Dr. Stillwell's professional awards and honors include: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Excellence Award from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing; Women Scholars' Initiative: John R. Raymon Mentor Award from the Medical University of South Carolina; the Ida V. Moffet Living Legacy Award – School of Nursing at Samford University; the Courage to Care Award – School of Nursing, Samford University; Year of the Nurse Award: Nursing Education – March of Dimes; and the Distinguished Faculty Award from the Arizona State University College of Nursing Alumni Association.
When not working, Dr. Stillwell enjoys golfing. Her long-term goals include continuing her personal and professional growth, creating graduate programs to meet the needs of our changing healthcare system and continuing the advancement of evidence-based practice in healthcare in order to promote best practices to improve patient, provider and organizational outcomes.
