Stop & Shop Alerts Customers to Voluntary Recall of Hershey's Chocolate Shell Topping

QUINCY, Mass., Sept. 4 The Stop & Shop SupermarketCompany, following a voluntary recall by The Hershey Co., removed from itsshelves all 7.25 ounce plastic bottles of Hershey Chocolate Shell Toppingbecause the product may contain almonds, an allergen that was not listed as aningredient.

Upon being notified of the voluntary recall, Stop & Shop immediatelyremoved all affected production codes of the product from its stores.

The product recalled by Hershey's has a UPC code of # 3400000600 and wassold nationwide after July 8, 2008. Customers who are allergic to almonds andwho still have the product should discard it and/or return it to any Stop &Shop for a full refund.
